Etsy lovin...

The season is changing early here in Alabama, and the turn of the flowers here at the Suburban Farmhouse has me sifting through my closet for some warm weather threads.  And when that doesn't work out like I like, I turn to Etsy...

At Market, I saw several of these long tiered skirts, and loved them.  Check out these casual, yet elegant feminine comfort pieces.
The ones above are made by beyondbeautiful at $42 for the first and $52 for the second.

Caustic threads makes (drawing and printing the creative pictures) these: cute kids screen print tees for $14, and the ladies below is $18.00

This dress is made by Idea2Lifestyle and is $60

Kalin makes these this awesome guys sweatshirt costing $75.00

Lady TA invented this imaginative piece and is selling it for $39.00

Finally, these two dreamy ensembles are out of the UK, made by Nattyboho, and cost 95 pounds for the one above, and 135 pounds for the fancy frock below.

80s party!

Great Saturday night in the hood.  One of our neighbors was having an 80s party.
Check out the footage...

I nabbed the sequined Liberace blazer with extra large shoulder pads from my grandmother's closet.  It was still in the active section for her tho, unfortunately.  Gotta love Nana.

As for the rest of these finds, I just gotta let them speak for themselves.  Wow!  Good times!

Acid Wash Denim Dress.  Wow.  She is also wearing 3 pairs of slouched neon socks and off-label white keds.  That's just so right, it's wrong, Heather.

Rae sports the 80s prom dress, and Jeff actually pulled that shirt from his mom's closet.  It's one he actually wore when he was 16.

Steph had a hair station set up stocked with neon scrunchies, lots of hairspray, a crimper, and picks.  The smell of aerosol became the scent of the night.

Remember this dance as Top Gun's 'Take my Breath Away' plays in the background?

We even broke out the Roger Rabbit, Running Man, and 80s dances I don't remember the name of.

Pour Some Suger on me baby!

Gotta love some Chips.

Our actual pictures from the 80s.  I am bottom right sporting the bright patchwork sweater and green turtleneck.  I heart the 80s!

Extra Love for Friday...

It has been a week!  The GI bug is no fun.  I remember last week, when I had it, praying that my boys didn't get it.  I simply couldn't imagine coping with all 3 of them as their bodies revolted and did all sorts of unpleasant things, but the night before last at 4am, that's exactly where I found myself.
But I have to say, although I ran 23 loads of laundry, disinfected, scrubbed, and mopped the entire house, administered medicine, petted children, and watched Spongebob and Sesame Street, I can't imagine anywhere else I would rather be.  It is my privilege to play Dr. Mom to those three little guys.

Have a great weekend, and love your family extra for me!!
