Painting the Porch...

To me it feels like just yesterday we were painting this porch, but the first time we went with a latex paint.  Bad idea.  It started chipping and needs to be repainted in only 2 years.  Yuck!
So, this time we are going with the white high gloss porch I wanted but chickened out on the first time.  Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Check out the before's:

During's:
We started out touching up the rails.
It took all day, but by night fall, we had everything painted and
the porch floor primed.

A job for me today

Today is the day before my birthday!!
And I was excited to spend it working on the house of the first person who called me after seeing Lauren's article published.
Mrs. Coker was a sweetheart and her home was lovely!  She is in the middle of a kitchen reno and wanted me to complete this island her husband carpentered.
Check it out:

Here's a shot of the corbels up close.  I stained them and then aged them with the same black paint.  They looked very rich.  I'm sorry the pictures do not do them justice.

Thanks again for inviting me into your home, Mrs. Coker!
It was a pleasant and lovely day, and I had a great time getting to know you!
Can't wait to see your kitchen all finished up.  I hope you email me the final shots!

Oh!  This just in...
Mrs's Coker's completed kitchen project.  Looks Great!

Some puppy sketches

I love these two angels below. I think anyone who know me, knows that in my very correct opinion, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is the world's best breed of pup.
I am not sure what happened 4th of July weekend, but inspiration hit me with these two guys below, and I had to get to work on recreating their sweet hearted beauty:

Oliver and Meredith in the flesh.
